Listening

May 24, 2006

As I look at the horizon today I see hope and renewal
I see healing and recovery
I see mercy and grace
I see reconciliation in daylight,
as anguish fades into the night
Birds sing, rain quenches and flowers open
I hear a song off in the distance
My song, your song our song
I hear a drummer drumming redemption
I hear a trumpet blowing peace
I hear a melody of love and acceptance
Today I am alive and grateful

Shawn, you are an inspiration. I saw the agony and dispair you went through and I can't imagine how I would react if I were in your shoes. My family thinks about Stella all the time. She is always included in our prayers for those that have passed on. I am glad to call you a friend and I wish you the best of success with Vox Sacra.

Shawn, here's a gift to you...our song based on The Parable of the Great Rain Cloud...in support of your mission.

Pray For Rain
Music and lyrics by Greg Parrott of GREAT RAIN, The Original Folk Rock Insurgents

O Great Rain,
what would my wilderness be
Without your sweet company

O Great Rain, greatest music of all
The sky’s kiss redeems us all

You’re heaven’s tears, come and sooth my lonely years
Come and blow your cooling breeze

What would my wilderness be, without your sweet harmony

Every vein of every tree, every heart has prayed to see
your love comin’ down- - -

O, Great Rain, what would my victory be
Without the strength you gave to me

And, Pray for Rain.
Bring the good to every one
Let them smile awhile before
the sun

Come sweet rain,
you put the child to sound sleep
And everything that’s strong
and weak

Ohm...
